What has happened at Lima
Diversity visas are being issued at the deadline: an applicant interviewed 28 September showed Issued by 13:00 on the 29th, and another who submitted documents on 15 September was called to an additional interview on the 25th and issued by the 29th. But a selectee interviewed 17 July who submitted missing documents on 7 August has heard nothing, and the 1 September interview cancelled two days ahead was never rebooked; calls get 'we do not handle that' and 'do not come without an appointment'. How do I contact Lima about a pause case?
What applicants at Lima report: Phone answers without information; do not attend without an appointment. Across posts, emails usually return nothing or a copy of the cable, and a congressional inquiry has so far returned one line. A moving CEAC last-updated date after you write means someone opened the file; it is not a decision and has not preceded one in any case we hold.
If you are waiting on Lima
- Expect a new medical to be the first request if yours is older than six months; ask your panel clinic whether it already has instructions before you book.
- Every approval since the cable went through a second interview about money: taxes, savings, debts, insurance, employment plans and benefits history. The list is in the re-interview guide.
- A changed CEAC date after you email the post means the file was opened, not decided.
- If your report would change this page, add your case. Rows are built from reports; a post with none cannot be shown as moving.
