Day 68. Four second interviews ended in approval on 27 October, three of them at Bogota, and the reports agree on what decided them.

Bogota: the insurance question decides it

Three Bogota applicants reported approvals from their 27 October second interviews. A spouse first interviewed on 11 June was asked how long she had worked, where, what she planned to do in the US, about debts, savings and a pension, and then how she would have health cover. She said she would start on the petitioner's employer plan and showed a copy of his insurance card. It was the only document the officer asked for, and the visa was approved, with the passport due in about a week and entry needed by 2 December, when her medical expires. Her account of the morning matters as much as her own result: people who could not show any coverage plan were asked for an insurance quote before approval, and some were told they could send it that same day.

An EB-3 family first interviewed in February had the same experience in ten minutes: properties, debts, savings, the spouse's job and income, and above all health insurance, answered with Marketplace and private quotes. The third approval took a congressional inquiry. Her second interview had been booked for 9 October, but the post emailed the wrong address and logged her as a no-show; a member of Congress's office contacted the post on 15 October, got a new date of 27 October, and she was approved. If your case has gone silent while others from your month were called, it is worth asking whether a letter went astray.

A quote does not need a Social Security number and the plan does not have to be bought before arrival. The re-interview guide has today's details added.

Kuala Lumpur's first approval

An F2A spouse, a Pakistani national first interviewed at Kuala Lumpur on 21 April, was emailed on 2 October and re-interviewed on 27 October after uploading updated financial evidence, affidavits from the petitioner and a joint sponsor, and a health insurance quote. After about four hours she was told the visa is approved and no further interview is needed; the old medical has expired, so a new one comes first. It is the first second-interview outcome reported from the post. Kuala Lumpur is now marked as moving on the pause status table. An unnamed European post told another family on the same day that it was approved, then left CEAC in administrative processing for a week.

A way through the rebooking wall

Frankfurt K-1 applicants cancelled in late August have been told for weeks that they are eligible to rebook while the portal refuses them. One couple cancelled for 24 August broke through: the consulate said it cannot book appointments, but the scheduling provider's help line, after several messages, told the fiancee to start a new application with the old fee applied, and a 3 November date was confirmed within 24 hours. Others have warned against starting over without instructions, and this couple did it only once told to. At Stockholm, an IR1 that never had an interview letter got an email saying its interview was cancelled and will be rescheduled, and CEAC moved to In Transit, so the case has reached the post. The cancellations tracker has both Frankfurt rows updated.

Where it is still silent

Guatemala City called its first applicants last week, but the people who wrote in on 28 October were first interviewed on 21 January, 20 February, 23 March and 21 May, and none has heard anything. One family has been in administrative processing since mid-2025, before the pause; their passport came back in February with a pause 221(g), and they are now talking to a mandamus lawyer. San Jose answered a case qualified eight months ago with the standard training-initiative text, the same reply a congressional office got on 21 October. Manama joins the table: a Ghanaian spouse verbally approved there on 12 January says the post has returned held passports and is not answering. On the nonimmigrant side, two Hyderabad H-1B renewals interviewed on 21 and 22 October are waiting on social media 221(g)s, and a Kathmandu H-1B has waited since November 2025 after sending 2017 company tax documents.

What to do this week

If a second interview is coming, put a health plan and its cost in the file: the employer plan with proof the family member can be added, or a quote. If your month has been called and you have not, check your spam folder, the scheduling site's messages and the email on your DS-260, then ask the post. Frankfurt K-1s stuck on the portal can ask the scheduling help line directly whether to start a new application.
